Characterisation
The samples, with and without the ligands attached, were sent for TEM analysis.
As follows are the images:

Spherical with
Diameters ranging from 2-10 nm

Physical properties of our samples correspond with literature 
- 
Small size of quantum dots results in high surface area to volume ratio which supports high fluorescence efficiency 
QUANTUM DOTS WITH LIGAND

It was observed that the Quantum Dots tended to agglutinate when ligands were attached to them 
- 
This was possibly due to the fact that the ligands form hydrogen bonds and dipole interactions with one another
